Antique Eastlake Marble Top Dresser with Matching Jewelry Boxes

$895.00

Four-drawer chest · Original walnut-toned finish · Carved leaf pulls · Sold as-is, ready to ship

Description

An Antique American Eastlake chest from the 1870s-90s, four drawers under a white marble slab with a rounded ogee edge. Each drawer front has a beautiful border and centered with a hand-carved oak-leaf pull. Two matching lidded boxes come with it, stepped and molded to sit on the marble as a jewelry or watch station. Underneath the drawers is a hole in the marble, so we do recommend keeping the boxes on top to cover those holes.

The original finish is intact and worn with lots of patina, hand-cut dovetails on every drawer, paneled sides, marble unbroken. We have re-glued some of the drawer boxes that were loose, and added teflon tape under the drawers so they function better. We have deep cleaned and waxed the entire piece and it's ready for a new home.

At just under 20 inches deep and 34.75 inches tall it works as a console as easily as a bedroom chest or even a changing table. Built for an entry, the wall behind a dining table, or a guest room that needs storage.

Care

Dust with a dry microfiber cloth and use a quality paste wax once or twice a year to feed the original finish. Wipe the marble with plain water only — stone takes a stain the wood never would.

One of one. This piece is in hand and priced to move as-is. When it's gone, it's gone — though we're happy to source and finish something similar.
