Antique Art Deco Waterfall Wardrobe in Burl Walnut

$895.00

Description

An Art Deco waterfall wardrobe in burl walnut, a full hanging wardrobe and a six-drawer chest inside a single thirty-five-inch footprint. The top rolls over the front edge in one unbroken curve, and the veneer is bookmatched across every drawer face so the figure mirrors itself the whole way down the stack.

Every original bakelite pull is still on it, however one has a piece that has broken off (on the left side door-see photo). The pulls are a cinnamon bar over a round disc, brass posts through the center, twelve of them. Cleaned, waxed, and gone through drawer by drawer so everything runs true, with the original lacquer and its crazing left where it is. The veneer is bubbling and lifting in some areas and the piece overall shows wear and patina consistent with age.

Twenty inches deep and just under five feet tall, so it carries a wardrobe's worth of storage without an armoire's bulk. Built for a small primary bedroom, a guest room with no closet, or an entry that has to hold coats and drawers.
